Revealed earlier this month, Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection set is coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and will include the original Ghostbusters film, Ghostbusters 2, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The collection won’t have another disc for Paul Feig’s 2016 reboot film, but there will be a way to download that as well. That comes after there were earlier rumors that the reboot was going to be left out entirely. In addition to the four films, the $149.99 price tag will also get buyers several features and rare footage, including a new cut of the original flick.

The Ultimate Collection will include among the rare footage a 114-minute preview cut of the original Ghostbusters. This particular cut will have alternate scenes as well as alternate scenes and some very early special effects. This particular footage will also include the ability to listen to commentary from producers to explain what viewers are looking at and how it changed from this early cut to the one that people saw in theaters.
It also turns out there will be other alternate versions of the original film, including the version that hit television airwaves which featured alternate “tv safe” takes. There are also some behind-the-scenes dailies that show some of the Ghostbusters actors trying out for their various roles. Some of those dailies could even show why Ghostbusters: Afterlife was such a tribute to the original film and the one original Ghostbuster who couldn’t be in the third film.
A great deal of the focus of the Ultimate Collection is obviously centered on the first film in the group, but there will also be special features for Ghostbusters 2 and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
The Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection is due to be released on February 1, 2022.
