Six months ago, parts of the full map leaked, though gamers weren’t sure at the time if the map shown would be the final product. Today, the game publisher released new information about the map in Ghost Recon: Wildlands that shows a massive area for players to explore and conquer, including numerous regions, ecosystems, and bosses.
As seen below, the first revealed map gives gamers a taste for the layout of Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Ghost Recon: Wildlands takes place in Bolivia, and while the game’s map isn’t quite to scale like The Division, it will set players in the harsh wilderness the country is known for. Ubisoft says the location is “The most beautiful and dangerous place on earth.” If the previously released trailers are to be believed, this will definitely be true in Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
The photo also claims the map is Ubisoft’s largest action/adventure open world to date. No measurements have been provided yet, so gamers can’t yet compare it to other large-scale open-world maps, such as the one in Grand Theft Auto 5, but what’s provided does look impressive.
Ubisoft says there are 26 bosses in the world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and they can be found within the game’s 21 regions. The map also features 11 ecosystems, which will offer plenty of variety as players take on the more than two-dozen bosses.
Within the vast world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Ubisoft says there will be plenty of activity and engagement. In fact, the game’s lead artist and technical art director, Benoit Martinez, recently revealed that the company has created an interactive world that’s alive with NPCs. Martinez said:
Another map released by Ubisoft shows the 11 different biomes within Ghost Recon: Wildlands. Each area has its own unique climate, topography, plants, and animals. As expected, these different features will affect how players approach and take down enemies and bosses within each ecosystem. Those interested in testing out Ghost Recon: Wildlands can sign up for the beta.
What do you think about the map for Ghost Recon: Wildlands?
Ghost Recon: Wildlands is set to release March 7, 2017 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
