Ghost Recon: Wildlands, the forthcoming tactical shooter title and tenth installment in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series, opened up registration for a closed beta a few months back, and fans flocked to get their names in early. Those lucky players who snagged a spot should be receiving an email this week confirming their inclusion in the beta. Once officially in, they will be able to pre-load the closed beta beginning at 11PM PST tonight, January 31 (or 2AM EST/7AM GMT February 1).
Despite Ubisoft not mentioning when the beta would take place when it first released registration, only following up last week to clarify the Ghost Recon: Wildlands beta dates, players were still incredibly eager to secure a spot. However, for those who didn’t make it in time, there is still hope. Any player with an access key can invite up to three other players to participate, so long as they are all on the same gaming platform.
Along with this exciting news, which Ubisoft announced on its site, the company also detailed everything players will need to know about the closed beta. The Wildlands beta guide maps out what players will experience during gameplay, along with some important region restrictions and PC requirements.
Additionally, Ubisoft noted that the closed beta will not be available in China, Japan, or North Korea, and will be around 25 GB in size. With a download size that large, players would definitely be wise to pre-load before the beta starts. PC players can check out the full list of requirements on Ubisoft’s site as well.
Though Ubisoft’s track record with multiplayer games has been, admittedly, spotty at times, it looks like Ghost Recon: Wildlands just might deliver, with those who have had some hands-on time with the game already applauding it. Those pre-loading before this weekend’s closed beta will likely be able attest to that, and it would be little surprise to hear satisfied players’ positive feedback come pouring in after the beta period ends.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands closed beta will be available from February 3 to February 6 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game will release on March 7, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
